We had heard the story of the bees making hives in the walls of the house, but hadn't yet found the evidence. Well, here it is. Bob found this over the window in the dining room when he tore off the planking. This is just the bottom of the affected area. From my understanding, we may find more when he removes the upstairs planks.

I told you all that the Bees where in the house..I remember all the worry about Grandma getting stung. She was very allergic. I (Donna) have one Grand daughter very allergic. The Drs couldn't believe that it could be, until they did some testing and told her Yup. The only other person I know as allergic was Grandma...dj
Sue, please keep up the good work, I really enjoy looking at the house take shape. I don't know if Mark told you, but I would love to visit in the Spring and have a "Look" for myself. I have many, many memories of the Dining Room table, the buffet, the kitchen table, a water fight in the kitchen when we were kids (and they think kids are bad now, we even used the hoses one from the mud room and one through the dining room) dj
